Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: October 17, 2026
SelahPetal is a faith-centered journaling and planning service operated by LaShonda Hill in Kentucky, United States. This policy explains how information is handled when you use selahpetal.com and the same service at faithandfocus111.com.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, account identifier, authentication information, and account settings. If you choose an available external sign-in option, the sign-in provider also processes information under its own policy.
- Your writing and garden: journal entries, prayers, gratitude, moods, tasks, weekly plans, monthly reflections, garden names, designs, reflections, progress, chapter history, and timezone settings you save. Your writing may reveal sensitive information, such as religious beliefs or health concerns, depending on what you choose to enter.
- Membership information: identifiers linking your account to Stripe checkout, customer and subscription records, and payment or subscription status. Payment details you enter at Stripe Checkout are processed by Stripe. The SelahPetal journal database does not store full card numbers or card security codes.
- Technical and support information: hosting and security services may process IP addresses, request times, browser or device details, and diagnostic logs. If you contact us, we receive the information you include in your message.
2. How we use information
We use this information to create and authenticate accounts, save and synchronize your writing, calculate garden progress, provide downloads you request, manage subscriptions, send account confirmation and password-reset messages, respond to support requests, troubleshoot problems, and protect the service against fraud or misuse. Journal content is not sent to an AI model for encouragement in the current service.
3. Service providers and disclosures
We use service providers to operate SelahPetal: Vercel for website hosting, Supabase for authentication and account data storage, Resend for account email delivery, and Stripe for payments and subscription management. They process information needed to perform those functions. Journal text is not included in Stripe checkout requests or account confirmation emails.
Learn about these providers at Vercel Privacy, Supabase Privacy, Resend Privacy, and Stripe Privacy.
Authorized operators and service providers may access information when necessary to operate, secure, or support the service. We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or security. If ownership of the service changes, information may transfer with the business subject to appropriate safeguards and applicable notice requirements.
We do not sell personal information or share journal content with advertisers. The current website does not include advertising trackers or cross-site advertising analytics.
4. Garden sharing and downloads
The garden sharing feature prepares an image containing your garden name, design, chapter, and progress. It does not include journal entries or garden reflections. A garden name may itself contain personal information. You decide whether to save the image or share it through another app; SelahPetal does not post it automatically. Once you share an image, the recipient or destination platform controls its copy.
Journal backups and your downloadable Bloom Book can contain private writing. Keep those files secure, especially on shared devices. Deleting information from SelahPetal does not remove downloaded files or copies you have shared.
5. Cookies and device storage
We use necessary authentication cookies to keep you signed in and protect your session. The app may read legacy browser storage to help you import older writing. The installed web app provides an offline notice; it does not cache your private journal for offline browsing. Downloads that you choose to save remain on your device. You can clear cookies and browser storage in your browser settings, but doing so can sign you out or remove unsaved legacy data.
6. Retention and deletion
Account and journal information is kept while your account remains available so you can return to your writing. Canceling a subscription does not automatically delete your account or journal. Existing writing remains available for export after membership access ends.
You can request account and journal deletion using the contact below. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account holder. Some payment, transaction, security, or correspondence records may need to be retained for legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, or security purposes. Provider backup copies may remain until their normal retention periods expire. Deletion of your account is separate from canceling recurring billing; use “Manage billing / cancel” to stop renewal.
7. Your choices and requests
You can edit saved writing in the app, export backups from “My writing & backups,” choose whether to share garden images, and manage your subscription through the billing portal. To request access, correction, or deletion of account information, or to ask about privacy rights that apply where you live, contact selahpetal@gmail.com. Send requests from your account email where possible. Do not send your password, full payment card details, or private journal contents with a request.
8. Security and processing locations
The service uses HTTPS, authenticated account access, and server-side ownership checks to protect journal access. Cloud storage is not end-to-end encrypted: authorized operators and infrastructure providers may technically access stored information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Use a unique password and protect access to your email and downloaded files.
SelahPetal operates from the United States. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate, whose privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
9. Children
SelahPetal is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
10. Changes and contact
We will update the date on this page when the policy changes. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before materially changing how previously collected personal information is used.
For privacy questions or requests, contact SelahPetal at selahpetal@gmail.com.
